Outpatient provider dashboard makeover coming in 2025
Beginning in 2025, Magellan’s* network providers in California that qualify for an outpatient dashboard will notice several changes aimed at better measuring quality metrics for our provider network. Starting in February 2025, providers can expect to see:
Retirement of the seven-day follow-up metric for both new and existing patients
This metric was an opportunity for providers to develop relationships with hospitals to promote follow-up care through discharge planning. Magellan received constructive feedback from providers relaying the difficulty in achieving these measures due to circumstances beyond their direct control regarding appointments.
Addition of two new measures: attestations and complaints
In lieu of the seven-day follow-up measures, Magellan will now review and verify that network providers have attested to their contact information and status. We also will track whether any member complaints have been made via Magellan customer service. We will measure both “Attestations” and “Complaints” within the last 180 days of a dashboard cycle.
Updated graphic layout of scorecard
Also beginning in February, Magellan’s provider dashboard layout will have refreshed graphics and metric visualizations that help providers understand their areas of achievement and needed improvements, along with historical data. Magellan believes these visual upgrades will help aid in discussions while supporting better understanding of quality. View an example of the new dashboard format.
We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our network providers and thank you for your previous feedback. Please do not hesitate to reach out to discuss your individual dashboard or offer feedback as we begin to use our new format and metrics in the coming year.
