About the presenter
Melodie Simmons, DHA, LPC, CED-C, is a clinical instructor with Equip Health. She holds a doctorate in health administration and is a licensed professional counselor and registered supervisor in Arizona.
Dr. Simmons’ career began in 2008 as an in-home therapist serving marginalized communities. She is a former runway and high fashion model, which piqued her interest in the field of eating disorders. Over the past decade, she has specialized in treating eating disorders and holds the Certified Eating Disorder Specialist-Consultant credential.
Dr. Simmons served as President of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), Phoenix Chapter in 2023 and as an advisor to the IAEDP curriculum subcommittee in 2022-2023. Currently, she is the Early Careerist Chair for the Arizona Healthcare Executives. Her extensive experience, leadership, and dedication to evidence-based care make her a respected leader who positively impacts the lives of others.
