Help members access timely care
Review Magellan’s appointment access standards in Texas.
With the new year underway and setting goals fresh on our minds, it’s a good time to take a look at Magellan’s appointment access standards, which are crucial elements of quality member service.
For individual practitioners:
- Non-life-threatening emergent appointments: See the member within six hours of their request.
- Urgent appointments: See the member within 24 hours of their request.
- Initial routine appointments: See the member within 14 days of their request.
- Follow-up routine appointments from initial evaluation: See the member within 30 days.
- Follow-up to routine care: See the member within 30 days (non-prescribers) and 90 days (prescribers).
Please review your practice operations and capacity to ensure that your practice is equipped to meet the appointment access standards outlined above. Meeting the access standards is required by your Magellan provider agreement.
