Referring a potential candidate for the Louisiana Coordinated System of Care is now a quicker and easier process. If a child or adolescent is thought to be eligible for the CSoC program, that referral can be made by calling Magellan directly at 1-800-424-4489. This toll-free number is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Anyone can refer a child/youth to be screened for CSoC services; however, the parent or guardian must be available during the screening process. Magellan then completes a brief Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths assessment to determine eligibility for the program. Magellan will also notify the Healthy Louisiana Plan of the referral.

In addition to the new direct referral process, referrals can also be generated through the child/youth’s Healthy Louisiana Plan when the parent/guardian calls the plan directly and asks for services or CSoC specifically.
